01 — Tight and difficult access

If it fits, we can dig it

A lot of Sydney work is behind a house, down a laneway, through a side gate or under a structure. Those jobs get quoted high or turned down because they are slow, fiddly and easy to get wrong.

They are also the ones we are best at. We size the machine to the opening — down to a 1.7 tonne mini that will go through a standard gateway — and we send operators who have worked in those conditions before, not whoever was available.

  • Side setbacks
  • Rear yards
  • Laneways
  • Basements
  • Through-house access
  • Low headroom

02 — Complicated excavation design

When the dig needs thinking about

Not every excavation is a hole. Some need battering or benching to stay safe, some need staging so the site keeps working around them, and most need to be dug to a survey rather than by eye.

We are comfortable working to drawings and levels, excavating around live services, footings and neighbouring structures, and telling you early when what is drawn will not work on the ground.

  • Battered & benched
  • Staged excavation
  • Dig to survey and level
  • Around live services
  • Adjacent to structures

03 — Stormwater and drainage

Dug to grade, backfilled properly

Pits, pipe runs, absorption trenches, detention and retention systems, tanks and connections. Drainage is unforgiving — a line dug to the wrong fall has to be done twice — so we set out carefully and check as we go.

We work regularly for plumbers and civil contractors on exactly this kind of work, which means we understand the sequence and do not leave you waiting.

04 — Landscape excavation

Shaping the site for what comes next

Pool digs, retaining walls, terracing, garden beds, levelling and general site shaping. Landscape excavation is finish work as much as bulk work — the levels have to be right and the site has to be left clean and usable.

We are used to working in alongside landscapers and pool builders, fitting into their programme rather than holding it up.

And the rest of it

Everything else you would expect

Straightforward work, done properly and on programme.

05

Bulk and detail earthworks

Site cuts, pad preparation, trimming to level, bulk excavation and spoil removal — from a single load to a full site strip.

06

Trenching

Water, sewer, electrical and communications. Trenched, bedded and reinstated, with traffic control and permits arranged where they are needed.

07

Demolition and concrete removal

Slabs, driveways, footings and small structures broken out, loaded and taken away — including the tipping fees.

08

Rubbish and spoil removal

Site clean-ups and spoil cartage. We can bring the trucks and bins to suit whatever is coming out of the ground.

09

Skilled labour hire

Ticketed operators and site labourers, by the hour or by the job, with inductions and paperwork sorted before they arrive.

10

Wet or dry hire

Take the machine with our operator, or take it on its own if you have your own ticketed people. Hourly or day rates for both.

Plant and equipment

We are not limited to our own machines

We own our Hitachi excavators from 1.7 to 14 tonne. Beyond that, we bring in whatever the job calls for through partners we have worked with for years.

That is deliberate. It means the machine on your site is the one that suits the work, not the one that happened to be free in our yard.
